In this article, I am going to share with you how to generate sales using your blog and I am going to reveal to you the most important or the key element that you don’t want to miss if you are building your business using a blog.

Now that you have a blog, what’s next? If you don’t have a blog yet, you need to get one. And if you don’t know how to set up one yourself, I have a brief training on that and you can find out more about that here.

You need a blog because it is your home base on the internet. It’s where you showcase your expertise to your niche. Blog builds more trust and credibility to your audience. Or think of it this way, if social networking is like going to a big party, having a blog is like hosting your own party! And blogs are by far the fastest, easiest way to build your own piece of virtual real estate online.

So now that we know what a blog is, here are the steps on how to generate sales using your blog: blog

1. Write your own content or use other people’s socially proven content – when writing your own content this means you are sharing your knowledge and expertise to your niche. You are building your brand. Just make sure you are doing this on a consistent basis. Don’t expect a sale out of a single post. Finding  other people’s socially proven content is easy. You can find this on digg for example, and These are just a few examples of where you can find socially proven content.

2. Create a call to action at the bottom of your posts – after writing your article, make sure that you are creating a call to action at the bottom of your posts. Or your opt in form must be visible on your blog. Don’t hide it. You can lead them to a landing page for example so they will be funneled into your system.

3. Let your system do the marketing for you – once people opt in to your list, they now become your leads and they are now entered into your funnel which builds more trust by educating them on a particular subject. So lets say your niche is mlm, you must teach and educate them on how to build a successful mlm business. Let the marketing system do the sorting and sifting  for you. This is why you need an autoresponder and this is why an autoresponder is the internet marketers best friend 🙂

4. Offer more value to your leads – now here’s where most people get it wrong. Your leads are people who are on the other side of your computer. If you think that automation is everything, then you are definitely wrong. While automation helps, it’s just half the equation. The other half is the “human element”. So let your leads know that you are there to support and guide them by sending them an email or by calling them. By doing this, your leads will trust you even more because they will see you as someone who is interested in their success.

And now for the most important element that you don’t want to miss if you are building your business using a blog, make sure that you have this secret sauce:

A Tribe – yes you read that right. A tribe is a group of like minded people who are interested and willing to help you syndicate your content to their own social media followings. So let’s say you don’t have a tribe yet. After writing a blogpost, your content will be published to your OWN social media followings. If you have 2,000 friends your content will be seen by 2,000 people as well. But here’s where the magic comes in. If you have a tribe of let’s say just 10 people who each have 2,000 followers on twitter or facebook for example, then your content will now be exposed not just to your 2,000 followers but to 20,000 more people because your tribe just helped you syndicate your content. Yes! That’s the power of having a tribe. If you are interested to learn more about how to leverage your social media marketing using the power of having a tribe, click here.

Great information, Sonny! My favorite tips are creating a call to action (it really works!) and being apart of a tribe. A tribe is crucial and can be such a life saver to beginners who do not have much of a following! 🙂

  2. Faith Barnard says:

Sonny, a well rounded post on all the key aspects that are necessary to building relationships and creating sales with your blog and online marketing.

Something that is often left out of posts is a good “Call to Action”. Fabulous job and I look forward to future posts.

Thanks Sonny, full of good, relevant info. Your comment on creating tribes explained the concept so that anyone could understand it and offering to help adds icing on the cake. Call to action being all important, glad to see it mentioned here. If oner reason for your log is to increase sales, then you have to ask, right?
    I look forward to more.
    Thanks again, Woody

This is a great post. I really like the tribe idea. I’m a member of Katie Freiling’s Unified Tribe. I have to start posting there though. Thanks for the great info. and reminder that there are people on the other side of the screen.

  8. @Suzie, thanks for your comments. If you are already a member of the Unified Tribe, you must utilize your membership there because it’s there where the magic comes in, I guarantee you that 🙂 And yes leads are also people who are on the other side of your screen that needs you help and guidance. So basically its important to connect with them 🙂

    Hi Sonny,

sound advice, I must say. If people expect a sale from single post, they’re setting themselves up for failure. It’s about daily consistent action over a longer period of time.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Take care
