In this article I am going to share with you how my blog‘s pagerank went from zero to PR3 and how you can do the same. To start off, what is pagerank? PageRank is a link analysis algorithm named after Larry Page and used by the Google Internet searchengine, that assigns a numerical weighting to each element of a hyperlinked set of documents such as the World Wide Web with the purpose of “measuring” its relative importance within the set. Its is Google’s patented method for measuring page importance or relevance; ranges from 0 to 10, 10 being the best.
So how did my blog’s pagerank went from nothing to PR3 and how you can do the same:
1. Write original and quality content – I know you’ve always heard about that content is king. And yes it is so true until now. Content will always be the king! Without content, you are not offering any real value at all. Content can be found anywhere and there are dozens of gazillions of content (just open your eyes) yet most people are considering this as their number one struggle. So here are some ideas on where to find content. Other people’s blog within your niche. If you find their content very valuable, you can either link back to their article or repackage their content to make it yours. But don’t plagiarize. It’s a mortal sin you need to avoid and you may end up being sandboxed by Google if you take this for granted! Another one is when you learn something new, write an article about it and share it with your readers. Hope those 2 tips will help you get started.
2. Get quantity and quality backlinks – backlinks are links coming from other pages that refer back to your page. In other words, this is a link coming from another website back to your own, also called inward or inbound links. Some Search Engines use backlinks as an indicator of the popularity of a site. The more incoming links to your web site the better. In addition to quantity, the quality of incoming links is also important. So a link pointing to your site from a PR 3 site is worth 500 links coming from PR 1 sites or those with no PRs at all.
3. Stay consistent – taking action is the key to your success in your business. But still without consistency, everything is still useless. You need to be consistent on creating content for your blog or website, get more backlinks to your site and stay focused on your goals. You can’t eat an elephant all at once so take it step by step and you will get there.
Just to reiterate that when I started blogging, I started from scratch. It wasn’t an overnight success neither a 3 month makeover. It took me time, was patient and consistent in building my blog. As a result, my blog’s pagerank went from zero to PR3 and you too can do the same if you apply what I just shared with you in this article.
